Fight like my Tiger and never give up ...

About two weeks ago I woke up one morning went through the usual motions of letting my cats out before their breakfast and then everything changed ...

Within half an hour I realized something was very wrong when my Tiger cat did not come home firs his breakfast , I called , I drove up and down all the roads around my home .... My heart sinking deeper and deeper into an abyss of dread and denial ...
Maybe he is locked up in someone's garage .... Maybe someone stole him .... Maybe he is stuck somewhere ....

It was hours of telling all my friends , searching and trolling and eventually the phone call from a friend who had seen a post on Facebook that matched his description and collar .... We found him!

Now what you need to understand is that I do not have kids and my kitties are my kids ... I was washed with a wave of relief , dread and fear as I picked up the telephone to call the vet, where a Good Samaritan lady from my complex had taken Tiger when she found him.

The hardest thing ever was facing that my little Tiger has a broken pelvis , a clean break almost exactly down the centre of the pelvis, meaning that what should be one fused bone ...is now two floating pieces. My reality being that I could not afford the specialized orthopedic surgery required to insert a metal plate, a heartbreaking reality.

The miracle ...
The fact that the vet stated that under no circumstances was it a death sentence, but rather that cats have an amazing healing capacity and although not ideal it is possible, as long as Tiger is confined for 6 weeks for a full recovery
We are now two weeks in and my Tiger is living up to his name , his bladder is working , his bowels are working , his appetite is back .... He is sitting up , goodness he even managed to wangle his way out of the shower and give me a huge fright this week. His kitty brothers ( Mischka and Duke) visit and chat to him, I often catch him longingly staring at the shower door as if given a chance he would be chasing mice and birds again in a flash.

If I can share one thing this week it is never give up , that first day when I found him I prayed over his little body. I found myself talking to God who created the creatures both big and small .... My LAN was to believe and journey with God not alone and in my own strength ... Our God is amazing and all things are possible through Him.

Mt Tiger is fighting , strong and getting better ever day and  just like Tiger you keep going everyday ... Never give up!

And don't forget to thank The Lord!
